The religious register is the true taboo engine of Greek. In a still-Orthodox culture the holy names carry real weight, so this section runs the full spectrum — from the reverent everyday "Παναγία μου" to the mild devil-talk to the genuinely blasphemous γαμώ compounds that offend the devout.
